AVANCE-Dallas Selects Ramir Camu to its Board of Directors

imageAVANCE-Dallas is a part of a Texas non-profit network dedicated to improving people’s lives – one family at a time. Focusing on Hispanic families, AVANCE is made up of community leaders, volunteers and business professionals who work with at-risk families to turn them around by providing literacy, education and a helping hand. AVANCE also has programs in El Paso, Laredo and Corpus Christi, Texas.
AVANCE-Dallas recently selected Mr. Ramir Camu, President and CEO, TheEyeWorks, to its distinguished Board of Directors.
Ms. Lisa Oglesby Rocha, Executive Director, AVANCE-Dallas, noted that asking Mr. Camu to serve was not a difficult decision. “His enthusiasm, energy and dedication to the Mission of our organization made it clear that he was the right candidate for our Board. He’s an accomplished business owner and professional, he brings many talents, which we need to the table, and we are very excited that he will help AVANCE-Dallas achieve its goals.”
Mr. Camu was born in Mexico City, Mexico. He is a graduate of the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey in Mexico City and Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.  He is Founder and President and CEO of TheEyeCard, Inc., the holding group of TheEyeWorks, a Web design marketing and public relations agency, based in Dallas, TX.
He is also co-founder of EzProspects, a CRM system for the direct sales industry, and co-founder of Motopia, a unique coffeehouse blending the passion for motorcycles with the love of coffee. Mr. Camu has also founded and grown several enterprises in the U.S. and Mexico such as Aliento Inc., a recording company, and has business interests abroad.
He has chaired and sat on the Board of Directors for such international groups as Ex-A-Tec DFW Association, an alumni group of Mexican-national professionals and executives. Mr. Camu was selected to the Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Dallas Class of 2003 and has been recognized as one of the youngest and influential executives in the DFW area.
