Get Your Business On!

Get Your Business On!

Summer is here and it's time to turn up the heat on your business!

Most economic analysts agree that the economic climate in the US will be good, to potentially very good, in the second half of the year and going into next year. But this doesn't mean you should sit back and ride the wave into 2011. Rather, now is the perfect time to promote your business and get your groove on.

Here are some proactive tips to promote your business this summer and into the fall:

  • Network, network, network - Ramp up your networking activities now. Get out there and talk about your business with potential prospects and business partners. Networking events are packed with business owners and professionals, exchanging business cards, talking up their business and products and setting up meetings. You should do the same.
  • Get your messages out there - Whether online or traditional communications vehicles, you should constantly and consistently get your business and/or product messages into the hands of prospective buyers or influencers who can send you referrals. Bottom-line, you've got something to say and there are buyers out there that want to hear it.
  • Take care of your storefront - When was the last time you took a careful look at your Website? If it looks dated and if it's static and not doing anything for you, now is a good time for a serious makeover. Your Website should be a very active member and contributor to your sales team. If your site hasn't made a sale in quite a while, it's time to fire it and hire a new one.
  • Shake things up - If you've never participated in a trade show or hosted an event to showcase your products, maybe now you should take the plunge. Or consider placing an ad, sponsor an event, launch an email marketing campaign, or send out a press release that talks about the latest success at your business. Sometimes it's a little scary to put yourself out there, but think of it this way, if you don't, we can guarantee your competition will.
  • Social Media - It's fresh, it's the latest craze! Whether it's Facebook, Blogs, Twitter or LinkedIn, everybody seems to be doing it. But to what end? First, find a trusted and proven partner to help you establish clear and measurable goals for your Social Media campaign. Second, make sure you are not only talking, but also actively listening to your clients, prospects and competitors. This will allow you to take advantage of all the social mediums and influence those who could one day be your next customer.

Turn up the heat on your business this summer and take advantage of as many opportunities as possible by actively promoting yourself. It may feel a little funny tooting your own horn, but if you won't do it, who will? Let us know what else you are doing to Get Your Business On!
